Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 123505
Small-screen default size is inconvenient
Last modified: 2013-10-23 18:32:31 UTC
(Windows7Prof64bit, HP Elitebook 8560p) Using OoWriter, open a new text file, then click the "part-screen" windows icon (top left of screen). OoW produces a window almost completely filling the screen, so the user must always drag the edges to a sensible part-screen size. There is no way to set this to a user preference (?) If the user produces a convenient part-screen size (say - the top left quarter of the screen), he can save the current file in that size (and reopen it later). But this does not affect the default size and position: when he starts a new text file, OoW will once again produce the huge "part-screen" window. Suggested solutions: - the default part-screen size and position automatically reset to the last part-screen created by the user, or - the default part-screen size and position can by set as an option by the user, or - the default part-screen occupies about a quarter of the screen, NOT in the centre (leaving room to run other apps) Thanks for reading this. Tony
